About Rockets 2: Static Burns
Back in 2004, REA_001 Rockets began our obsession with dry propellant and rocket launches, and we quickly became addicted to the sounds of clicking igniters and pure propellant combustion.
With REA_016 Rockets 2: Static Burns we reprise the collection with a bit of a twist: we left out the rockets! Instead of soaring ballistics, we decided to just burn the motors. A frequent request of the REA_001 release was for sustained, steady state burns. This collection more than addresses that need.
REA_016 features unique, homemade concoctions of dry propellant and commercially available, large-scale rocket motors. Each motor was recorded from up to 8 perspectives. Not every channel survived each launch, but thankfully we sacrificed only one microphone to bring this collection to your doorstep. Our goal was to satisfy all of your dry propellant needs; between REA_001, and REA_016, your needs will be met.
A very special thank you to Kelly Pieklo, Justin Drust, and Francis Dyer for their hard work and support during the production of this library.
